Fistulografia

Fistulography - a radiological examination performed at surgical departments. It is based on visualization by means of a shading agent (eg 60% Uropolinum) of abnormally formed spaces such as abscess or fistula. For this purpose, the sterile catheter is inserted through the outer opening (cutaneous) into the test area. The shading agent is then applied. For better visibility, images are taken in different patient settings. For this test (as with other tests requiring contrast), the patient should be on an empty stomach.
