Opher - an Israeli guided bomb driven by heat. The Bombardment Formation creates an Israeli bomb destroying a 500-pounder (equivalent to US Mark 82).

The Opher bomb is designed to combat tanks and other armored vehicles. The bomb resembles a laser-guided bomb, but the bomb coordinator does not contain laser radiation but infrared sensors. After the shot Opher falls on the ballistic track. At the end of the flight, the target is self-corrected to a heat-sensitive target. The self-propelled system provides a 2 m spread over a 240 kg warhead that provides a high probability of target paralysis. Bibliography
