Maneuvering area


The maneuvering area (shunting area) - a part of a station constituting a separate set of tracks and maneuvering equipment by one maneuver manager using a single traction vehicle (shunting locomotive).

For efficient and safe maneuvering, the station is divided into maneuvering areas and districts. Two or more maneuvering areas are maneuverable. The marshalling marsh area is called the marshalling area and if more than one maneuvering vehicle (maneuvering locomotive) operates on the marshalling hill, the marshalling circle. The maneuvering area, where the main task is to compile trains, is called the assembly area. Bibliography
