Poznań Law


Poznan Law (lat. ius Posnaniense) - city law, a local variation of Magdeburg law modeled on the privilege of locating Poznan from 1253 and applied in western Wielkopolska.

This was due to the inadequate knowledge of the law by the local princes, and later the kings who avoided these deficiencies by modeling on the Poznań version of that law. In the Poznan law, such cities were located as:
