Albert Heath
Albert Heath (born May 31, 1935), also known as Tootie, is an American hard-rock and jazz drummer. Heath moved to New York in 1957 where he met John Coltrane with whom he soon joined. A year later he joined J.J. Johnson's Group (1958-1960) and then The Jazztet (1960-1961). For a short time lived in Europe where he collaborated with local musicians. Heath collaborated with such artists as Wes Montgomery, Tommy Flanagan, Bobby Timmons Trio, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Heath, Thelonious Monk and Nina Simone.
Along with older brothers, Percy and Jimmy performed in the Heath Brothers. Authoritative control (person):
