Kim Dong-jo
Kim Dong-jo (born August 14, 1918 in Pusan, Dec. 9, 2004 in Seoul) is a South Korean politician.
He began his work in Korean diplomacy during Li Syng Man's presidency. He contributed to regulating bilateral relations with Japan. He was an ambassador in Japan and the US, deputy minister, and in 1973-1975 the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He conducted talks with the Americans on the strengthening of US forces by Korean troops in Vietnam, and on the modernization of the Korean armed forces. Since 1975 he has been the advisor to President Park Chung-hee for foreign policy, retiring in 1979.
