Palauania


Palau (Palau, Belau) - the indigenous population of Palau, a part of the Micronesia. In 1996 their number was 15.7 thousand. people. They speak the Palau language of the great Austrian family and English.

The social structure of Palauan is based on matrilineal families. Their traditional activities include fishing and the cultivation of coconut palms, sugar cane and taro.

The majority of Christians in the Palau religion (41% Catholicism, 25% Protestantism) and a local syncretic religion based on traditional beliefs (about 30%). Bibliography
