Jan Grabski
A chapel on the church in Sadlow Jan Grabski, senior sergeant circa 1820 Jan Grabski (born 1785 in Otolin, died in Stępowo in 1851) - Polish military participant in the Napoleonic Campaign, November Uprising, landowners. Curriculum vitae Grabski was from the old family of the noble Dolek coat of arms. The son of Pawel and Marianna from the Goszczyński coat of arms Pobóg. In 1808, he began to serve in the artillery regiment as a gunner in the Army of the Duchy of Warsaw. He participated in the war with Austria, in 1809 he fought under Raszyn and Zamościa. He went after the entire Napoleonic campaign. He participated in the Battle of Liepaja (1865), the siege of Gdansk (defense of the Prussians) in 1813, ending the Battle of Leipzig.
After 1815, as a non-commissioned officer he served in the army of the Kingdom of Poland. In 1823 he was promoted to lieutenant. From 1824 to 1830 he served in the Battalion of Veterans.
He participated in the November Uprising, in February 1831 as a second lieutenant, and since May was the artillery captain. He participated in the battle of Grochow and Ostroleka. In August 1831, dedicated to the service of Lazarus. After the capitulation of Warsaw, he was employed in the Sapper Hospital and made an oath of allegiance to the Tsar.
In 1847, he proved the noble origin of the Kingdom of Poland. In 1849, Joanna of Dzierżanowska's wife inherited a majority of the estate in Stępowo near Rypin, after his aunt, Antonin Ostaszewska. There is a miniature painting showing him in the uniform of the Napoleonic period, on horseback, made by the famous Polish painter Ostrowski.
