Marian Strzelecki (painter)


Marian Strzelecki (born April 1, 1924 in Sieciechów, died February 11, 1973 in Sopot) is a Polish painter and pedagogue at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Curriculum vitae

During World War II he fought in the ranks of the Home Army (his commander was Antoni Hed). He studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (current name: Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk) at the Faculty of Painting in the studio of prof. Artur Nacht-Samborski and fabric in prof. Józefa Wnukowa. He graduated in 1951 and received his diploma in 1955. In 1951-1956 he worked as an assistant in the Fabryka Fabkan prof. Józefa Wnukowa. He participated in the reconstruction of the Main Town in Gdansk (he made decorative wall painting on the elevations of townhouses at Dluga Street). The artist practiced painting and artistic fabric.

He died in a car accident. He was buried in a communal cemetery in Sopot. Bibliography
