Butapren
Butapren - the trade name for solvent glue, in which the main glue component is chloroprene rubber. This adhesive is used mainly in the combination of rubber, natural and artificial leather, artificial and natural fabrics and felt. It is used mainly in the footwear industry as it provides durable, watertight and elastic welds.
This adhesive is a chemical solution of chloroprene rubber with thickeners (usually phenol-formaldehyde resin and inorganic fillers) from a chemical point of view. This adhesive is used cold to cover both bonded surfaces and to bond them together after the adhesive has evaporated most of the solvent. Previously used solvent in this adhesive was trichloroethene ("tri"). Solvents in the adhesive are ethylbenzene, xylene (various isomers) and ethyl acetate. Toxic solvent vapors in adhesives are often inhaled for intoxication, which is very harmful to the brain and internal organs.
