Johann Karl Simon Morgenstern


Johann Karl Simon Morgenstern Johann Karl Simon Morgenstern (born August 17, 1770) in Magdeburg, died 3 (15 September) 1852 in Dorpat) - German philosopher and classical philologist.

From 1788 he studied philosophy and philology in Halle. In 1794 he defended his doctorate in philosophy. In 1797 he became a professor in Halle. Since 1798 he taught at the GdaƄsk Atheneum and since 1802 has founded a new university in Dorpat. In 1833 he retired, but continued to lecture. Bibliography Authoritative control (person):
