Otto Heess
Otto Heess (born 1898, died 1949) is a Nazi criminal, member of the concentration camp Mauthausen-Gusen and SS-Obersturmführer.
From the profession of an office clerk. Member of NSDAP (since 1933) and Waffen-SS. A member of the crew of the main camp in Mauthausen from February 1940 to August 1943 (among other things, in 1943 he served as commander of the guards in the Wiener Graben quarries). From August 27, 1943 to May 6, 1945, Heess was the commander of the Steyr sub-camp. Responsible for the crimes committed on the prisoners of this sub-camp. He used cruel punishment, including the death penalty.
Heess was sentenced in the third trial of the Mauthausen-Gusen crew in front of the American military court in Dachau. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. Bibliography
