It was written by Finnish bishop and reformer Mikael Agricola on the occasion of his work on the Finnish translation of the New Testament, which Agricola He graduated in 1548. Abcir was supposed to teach the basics of reading. It contained alphabet, writing exercises and catechism, including our Father and the Decalogue. The first edition was 16 pages, the second one was from 1551 to 24 pages. To this day, there is no complete copy of the book.
