Jani Virk


Jani Virk (born 1962 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian writer, poet, essayist, translator (among others Thomas Bernhard and Master Eckhart). He belonged to the youth ski team. He graduated in Comparative Literature and German Philology. For several years he lived and worked in Düsseldorf, Chicago and London. Jani Virk was the chief editor of the Literature magazine (1988-1989), the daily Słoweniec, and is currently the television editor and journalist on TV Slovenia, where he is responsible for the cultural department. In total Jani Virk has published three novels, four collections of short stories, one volume of poetry and a collection of essays.

In Polish we can read only one book Laughter through a wooden partition - Smeh za leseno pregrado, which was translated by Joanna Pomorska. Bibliography
