Karol Frycz

Karol Franks vel Fritsch vel Fritsche (born 1830 in Warsaw, May 24, 1863 in Poręba) - Lieutenant Colonel in the January Uprising, war chief of the Pułtusk County.

He came from a Saxon family settled in Poland, who obtained an indigo at the Diet in 1768. After graduating from high school, he went to France, where he graduated from an engineering school. Employed at the Warsaw-Petersberg Railway

He participated in the preparations of the insurgents. He fought in Władysław Cichorski ward. Zameczek and Zygmunt Padlewski. He commanded the reserves at the Battle of Myszyńcem. Later he went to Ignacy Mystkowski's department. Under his command he participated in the Battle of Stokie, Kietlanka and Łączka. In the last battle at the head of a separate unit of kosynierów, he resisted the overwhelming force of the enemy. Severely wounded in the stomach, died the next day. Bibliography
