Eve


Christmas Eve (vigilia = "watch", "guard", vigilare = "watch") - in the Christian tradition begin the celebration of the evening in the evening preceding. Such a manner of celebration is embedded in the Jewish count of time in which the beginning of the day is dusk.

In the Catholic Church, the eve is part of every celebration (including Sunday). The vet and the Christmas Eve consist of vespers. The most important vigil is the Easter Vigil, which Augustine of Hippo described as the mother of all the saints. Bibliography
