Halina Szymańska (activist)


Halina Szymańska's grave at the Jewish cemetery in Okopowa Street in Warsaw Halina Szymańska, originally born Rose Fluhr (born 5 December 1919 in Vienna, died 14 May 2006 in Warsaw) is an activist of the Jewish community in Poland, initiator of the founding of the Senior Club at the Jewish Religious Community in Warsaw.

She was born in Vienna to a Jewish family who then moved to Poland. Before World War II, she graduated from the Hebrew secondary school. During the war she stayed in the Tarnów ghetto, which miraculously managed to get her out. Since then, she hid in Aryan papers in Warsaw. After the war ended, he was an active member of the Jewish Social and Cultural Society in Poland. In 1998, she founded the Senior Club, which was active at the Warsaw Jewish Community Center, which led to her death. Halina Szymańska is buried at the Jewish cemetery in Okopowa Street in Warsaw (Unit 2). Bibliography
