Wilhelm Burza
Wilhelm Burza (born December 24, 1871 in Brodnica, died in February 1945 in Gdańsk) - artist painter.
Painting was studied in Germany, but details are not known. From about 1906 he lived in Grudziadz. He painted paintings in Evangelical churches, and in Grudziądz painted paintings in the Starosty building (destroyed in 1945), presenting the First High School at ul. Sienkiewicz and II LO at ul. Marcinkowski. He painted the views of the Pomeranian cities, especially Grudziądz, with distinctive atmosphere and portraits. He was a talented cartoonist. His paintings are in the collection of the Museum in Grudziądz and the Museum of Western Prussia in Münster and in private collections. Between 1921 and 1927 he was a drawing teacher at the State Junior Gymnasium and from 1922 to a retirement pension in 1931 at a grammar school with a German grammar school (Goetheschule). He also designed scenery for the German Scene (Deutsche Bühne) in Grudziądz. > Bibliography
