YTD
YTD (Year-To-Date) - a period beginning on January 1st of this year and ending on the present day. The term YTD is used in many contexts, mainly as a record of activity from the beginning of the calendar year, or tax year, to this day.
In the context of finance, YTD often appears in financial statements when determining the performance of an entity. Delivering current YTD results, as well as one or more analogues from previous years, allows owners, managers, investors, and other shareholders to compare current business achievements with historical periods.

The comparison of measures such as YTD can lead to erroneous conclusions, as far from the beginning of the year. YTD is more sensitive to early-onset changes than later. Unlike YTD, a 12 month period or a calendar year is much more resistant to seasonal factors.
