European Petroleum Survey Group

European Petroleum Survey Group or EPSG (1986 - 2005) was a research organization related to the European fuel industry, consisting of geodetic, survey and cartographic specialists in oil exploration.

EPSG has developed the EPSG Geodetic Parameter Set, a database that provides information about parameters that define the Earth's shape, elispositions, geographic coordinate systems, cartographic maps, units of measurement, etc.

EPSG's tasks were taken over in 2005 by the newly formed International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP).
