Wanda Łążyńska


Wanda Helena Łążyńska ps. "Boża Wola" (born April 5, 1908 in Kiev, died 29 August 1944 in Warsaw) - captain of the Polish Army, doctor, participant of the Warsaw Uprising.

Before the outbreak of war, she was an assistant professor. Jan Kossakowski at the Children's Hospital in Warsaw at the surgical ward. In the Warsaw Uprising she served as a physician of the Hospital of the Elisabeth Sisters at ul. Goszczyńskiego (Mokotów District of Warsaw AK). She died on the 29th day of the Warsaw Uprising during the transfer of wounded - hospital patients to the shelter, during the bombing of Warsaw by German aviation. She was awarded the Order of Virtuti Militari by command of the AK Commander No. 512 of 2 X 1944. No cross of 12802.
