Harold Lowe


Harold Godfrey Lowe Harold Godfrey Lowe (born November 21, 1882 in Llanrhos, North Wales, May 12, 1944 Deganwy) is a fifth officer at RMS Titanic. Probably the only one who turned the lifeboat to the rest of the water after sinking the ship. From the water he picked up four passengers (one of them died due to hypothermia before the arrival of the RMS Carpathia).

On ships he began to serve at the age of 14 as a ship boy. The husband of Ellen Marion Whitehouse, with whom he had two children, Florence Lowe and Harold Lowe Jr. He died of hypertension at the age of 61.

In 1997, Lowe's character appeared in Titanic, played by Ioan Gruffudd. Lowe saves her main female protagonist, Rose DeWitt Bukater, before freezing in the icy water after the ship's catastrophe.
