Juraj Beneš


Juraj Beneš (born 2 March 1940 in Trnava, died September 11, 2004 in Bratislava) is a Slovak composer, pianist.

He graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and was a pupil of Jan Ckker, who was one of the best known Slovak composers. Since 1983 Beneš has taught at the same university.

Beneš's work followed current trends. He was best at composing operas such as the New Clothes Emperor, Pete and Pete, and often used his voice together with the Choir Three Women. Authoritative control (person):
