Tafonomia


Taphos (grave, burial, grave, nomos - law) - study of the post-mortem fate of organic remains, both contemporary (subfossil remains) and fossils (fossils). The concept of tafonomy was introduced by Russian paleontologist Ivan Jefiev in 1940.
