Ambrosian rite - the rite of the Catholic Church practiced by some 5 million faithful in the Italian Lombardy region and in the Swiss canton of Ticino. Its name is derived from Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan from the 4th century. He owed much to it.

In the Ambrosian rite there are some differences in the celebration of the Mass and also in the course of the liturgical year. This hymn is characterized by hymns. The Romanization of this liturgy, or similarity to the Roman liturgy, in Upper Italy dates back to the 9th and 11th centuries. Bibliography
