Werner Greunuss in 1947
Werner Greunuss (born 1908, died?) - a Nazi criminal, physician at Buchenwald concentration camp and SS-Untersturmführer.
Medical doctor and SS member. His service in Buchenwald began in November 1944 in the main camp as a unit physician. On January 1, 1945, he was transferred to a medical post in the Ohrdruf sub-camp, where he remained until April 2, 1945. Greunuss was co-responsible for the conditions in the suburban hospital where 10 to 15 prisoners died each day.
After the end of the war, Werner Greunuss sat on the bench accused of the Buchenwald crew in front of the American military court in Dachau and was sentenced to life imprisonment. However, the sentence was changed to 20 years of imprisonment. He escaped from prison for war criminals in Landsberg on 21 May 1949. Greunuss's further fate is unknown. Bibliography
