Arabic plate


Arabic plate marked in gold Arabic plate - a small tectonic plate, located between the African plate in the south and west, the Eurasian plate in the north and the Indian plate in the east.

It covers the Arabian Peninsula, Mesopotamia, the eastern part of the Red Sea, east of the Red Sea Rift, the northern part of the Gulf of Aden and the western Gulf.

Before the formation of the Red Sea Ryft, it was the whole of the African plateau. It was structurally part of the Nubian-Arab Platform. It consists of an Arabian shield and an Arabian monocline. Bibliography
