Faith and Light


Jean Vanier and one of the members of L'Arche. 2009 The International Association of Faith and Light, also known in Poland as the Mummy Community, is an international secular movement, linked to the Catholic Church, based on working with people with intellectual disabilities, created by Marie- Hélène Mathieu and Jean Vanier during the pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1971. The foundations of the founding of the first movement were received by Pope Paul VI in 1973 formally confirming their vocation as the "Faith and Light" movement. Motion characteristics The Faith and Light community is a group of 10 to 40 people (mentally handicapped children, adolescents and adults, their parents and friends) who meet at least once a month at friendly meetings and prayers. Usually, communities are rooted in local parishes.
