Hefajstion

Hefajstion Hephaistus was the best friend (and, according to some sources, also a lover) of King Alexander of Macedonia. He came from the Macedonian aristocracy and grew up with Alexander. On an expedition to Persia, he held higher positions and eventually became the king's deputy. He died in Ekbatana, in the summer of 324 BC. Probably for tropical disease, but can not be excluded. Previously, he married Drypetis, daughter of Darius III and State I, and sister of Statewoman II, Alexander's second wife (Wedding in Suzie).

Alexander was desperate to kill the doctor who had treated Hephaestus. The dead friend sent a beautiful and very expensive funeral. The king of Macedonia died a year later.
