Caleb Strong


Caleb Strong (born 9 January 1745, 7 November 1819) is an American lawyer and politician from Massachusetts.

In 1780 he was elected to the Continental Congress, but did not attend. He was a member of the National Convention in Philadelphia, during which the content of the United States Constitution was determined.

Between 1789 and 1796 he represented Massachusetts in the United States Senate. In the years 1800-1807 and again in 1812-1816 he was governor of this state. Bibliography Authoritative control (person):
