Çayönü Hill

Ruins Çayönü <Çayönü Tepesi - Neolithic settlement located east of the Upper Euphrates. Founded around 8 000 p.n.e. As a result of the excavation, four settlement phases were identified, covering a period of about 500 years. In the oldest period the huts were oval, buried in the ground. In the second period, rectangular buildings were started. In subsequent periods, multi-building buildings appear and the first traces of crop cultivation such as lentils, peas, wheat and domestication of animals (sheep, goats, pigs) appear. There are also tools (fishing hooks, awls, pins) from the third and fourth periods. Bibliography
