Howard Hayes Scullard (born February 9, 1903 - March 31, 1983) is a British historian specializing in ancient history. Co-editor of The Oxford Classical Dictionary. He was born in Bedford, the son of British Minister Herbert Hayes Scullard and Barbara Louise Dodds. His education, begun at Highgate School, culminated in his studies at St John's College, Cambridge, where at New College he worked as a tutor and later as a reader.
