PuW blind bomb
Blank bomb PuW - German training bomb intended for science and bombing training. The bombs of this type were obtained on the Ławica airfield controlled by the Wielkopolska Uprising and were subsequently used by the Polish Army Aviation.
The PuW blind bomb was painted in a gray body identical to the 12.5 kg PuW bomb. Inside the body was a charge of black powder and tar as filler. The bomb was armed with a head igniter. After the fall, the detonation of gunpowder took off from the ballast bomb, and the powder gases emanating from the crust formed a well visible white cloud.
In 1932, when PPW bombs were depleted in Poland, 4800 pieces of 12W PPW bombs were converted into bombs. Bibliography
