Roman Prawocheński


Roman Prawocheński (born September 11, 1877 in Liwience, Voronezh Governorate, died 6 August 1965 in Cracow) is a Polish zootechnician, since 1926 a professor at the Jagiellonian University, from 1944 Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. 1953 Cracow University of Agriculture. Member of the titular PAN (since 1952). In the years 1939-1940 he was a prisoner of the concentration camp Sachsenhausen. He was an eminent animal breeder, mainly a horse.

In 1924, he received the French Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit. In 1946 he was awarded the Officer's Cross, and in 1951 he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

He died on 6 August 1965 in Cracow. He was buried at the Cracow Rakowicki Cemetery.

His son-in-law was Henryk Niewodniczański. Bibliography
