Sepp Schmatz
Sepp Schmatz (born 1914, died?) - Nazi criminal, report officer in the concentration camp Flossenbürg and SS-Hauptscharführer.
The profession of locksmith. Member of NSDAP (since 1937) and Waffen-SS. He served in the Flossenbürg camp from 1939. Initially, until April 20, 1942, he was a report officer (Rapportführer). Then, until October 1942, Schmatz served as the head of the prisoners' committee at the Dresden sub-camp. He led the firing squad in Flossenbürgu and repeatedly took part in the mass shootings of prisoners and Soviet POWs. Schmatz was one of the largest sadistic camps. He particularly abused the prisoners during the appeal.
Schmatz sat on the bench of the accused in the fourth trial of Flossenbürg's crew before the American Military Tribunal in Dachau. For his crimes he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Bibliography
