Chlorowodorki

Hydrochlorides - most commonly amine hydrochlorides (ammonium chlorides); salts of organic base and hydrochloric acid. Amine hydrochlorides are much more resistant to degradation (eg oxidation) from neutral amines and often such form is used for their storage and trade. In addition, amine hydrochlorides are much better water-soluble than starting amines, so that drugs containing amino groups in the form of hydrochlorides are readily absorbed by the body of the patient.

Amine hydrochlorides are obtained by reacting an amine with hydrochloric acid, a solution of hydrogen chloride in an organic solvent or with hydrogen chloride. R3N + HCl → R3N·HCl

The usual R3N / HCl record allows easy identification of the starting amine, but does not accurately represent the ionic structure of the compound: R3NH Cl. Other halogenated hydrocarbons

Amines form analogous salts with other halogenated hydrocarbons. Amine bromides can be used as drug formulations, eg antitussive dextromethorphan.
