Paragnomen - extraordinary, astounding behavior of a person (sometimes a crime), a behavior contrary to expectation, sometimes the first symptom of a mental illness. The phenomenon described for the first time by Eugeniusz Brzezicki (1890-1974), consisting in the unexpected execution of some unusual and unpredictable activity against the background of the patient's calm, peaceful behavior.

Paragnomen does not determine the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease, but it can determine the safety of the patient and its environment. It usually occurs in case of sudden onset of illness.
