IS-95B


IS-95B (Interim Standard - 95B) - The radio standard used in mobile telephony published by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). The IS-95B is based on the earlier IS-95A standard, and also provides CDMA-based packet data transmission at 64 kbps. This standard is used in cdmaOne networks. Networks based on this standard have a built-in radio network that is included in 2.5G systems.

The first cdmaOne network based on the IS-95B standard was built in 1999 in South Korea. Bibliography
