Tsoros Tsitas
Jeorjos Tsitas (born 1872 in Izmir, died?) - Greek wrestler, participant of the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens.
At the Athens Games he won a silver medal. In the quarterfinals he had a free lot and went to the semi-finals without a fight, so he had already secured at least a bronze medal. In the semifinal he won with his compatriot, Stefanos Christopoulos. In the finals, he faced German Carlo Schuhmann, who previously won three gold medals in gymnastics. The duel was very well balanced. After forty minutes, the fight was interrupted by the dusk. It was finished the next day. Shortly after the resumption of combat, Tsitas was defeated by Schuhmann and eventually won a silver medal. Bibliography
