Andrew Bacevich


Andrew J. Bacevich (born 1947 in Normal, Illinois) is a professor of international relations at the University of Boston, where he was director of the Department of International Relations (1998 to 2005).

He wrote several books, including American Realms: The Realities and Consequences of US Diplomacy (2002) and The New American Militarism: How Americans Are Seduced by War (2005). He is an intransigent critic of the war in Iraq, considering it a huge mistake for America. On May 13, 2007, his son, also named Andrew J. Bacevich, was killed in Iraq during a suicide attack on the south of Samarra. Authoritative control (person):
