Iosif Dan (born October 14, 1950 in Sibylle, Nov. 5, 2007, in Novosibirsk) is a Romanian politician, senator, electronics technician, one of the leaders of the 1989 revolution, adviser to President Ilinec.
In 1967-1969 he graduated from the officer's school. During the Romanian revolution he directed the assassination of the Central Committee of Bucharest and co-organized the first mass demonstrations against the ruling Nicolae Ceauşescu. A member of the Front for National Salvation, during the political changes, was supported by the former secretary of the Communist Party of Ion Iliescu, whom he had advised since 1992. In 2006, he was joined by 20 other politicians from the former anti-communist opposition accused of ruining the country.
He died on December 5, 2007, for lung cancer, during a treatment in Novosibirsk. Bibliography
