Brigid Stone
Brigid's Stone - an erratic boulder with a circumference of about 6 m, lined by a glacier lying in the eastern part of the Bardzkie Mountains.
Location and descriptionBrygidian stone is a boulder found in the eastern part of the Bardejov Mountains, in the valley of Węglówka, at an altitude of about 380 m. It is a red granite boulder brought from Scandinavia by the iceberg. At the top of the boulder is a cross with a span of 20 and 22 cm, probably the medieval border marker of the Cistercian abbey in Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, dating from 1295. Formerly a boulder was a local tourist attraction, now it is forgotten and little known. Name
The name of the stone is derived from the local legend of the servant Brigid, who often rested on the stone when she was carrying a chrust from the forest in a teddy bear on her back. One day she fell asleep on the stone, the shawl fell on her and the shawl strangled her. Literature
