LODMAN - broadband computer network (MAN) in Łódź.

It is a long-range backbone network that connects the local networks of most Lodz universities, research institutes and major offices, providing access to the Internet for these institutions. Lodman is also the registrar for lodz.pl, sieradz.pl, plock.pl, zgierz.pl, pabianice.pl, skierniewice.pl, and deals with the operation of the distributed database system of the Lodz Academic Library Network. The catalog of the 10 largest scientific libraries in Lodz is available online.

This network has two international : academic under the PIONIER agreement and direct commercial.

In addition to this, Lodman conducts a commercial activity consisting of providing fixed Internet connections of varying bandwidth, providing sites for web hosting, consulting for the installation and design of local networks.

Since 1998, he has also been conducting Internet broadcasting and archiving of scientific, cultural and fair events in Łódź (since 2006 as TVi Lodman), based on a team of Computer Center staff and volunteers - mostly students of the Technical University of Lodz.

Lodman is currently managed by the Computer Center of the Technical University of Lodz, and all strategic decisions belong to the User Council, which includes representatives of Lodman's subscribers.

This network is financed by the membership fees of the institutions connected to the network, profits from commercial activities and direct subsidies from the Ministry of Science and Information Technology.
