Sun of the Sleepless / SOTS - side project, founded in 1999 by Ulf Theodor Schwadorf (Empyrium's artistic pseudonym and Marcus Stocka's The Vision Bleak). Debuted in Prophecy Productions in 1999 with his mini-album Poems to the Wretched Heart, which contained music maintained in a black metal convention. According to Schwadorf himself, the concept of the Sun of the Sleepless project was to be a tribute to bands such as Burzum, Ulver, and Dark Throne. The second material was released a year later by MCD Tausend kalte Winter, which, apart from the metallic sounds known from earlier releases, contained the first elements of ambient music.
