Wetzlar Neue Zeitung


Wetzlarer Neue Zeitung (WNZ) - a local newspaper in Wetzlar and the Lahn-Dill district. It is the main title of the Zeitungsgruppe Lahn-Dill press group and the most important newspaper in the Lahn-Dill district.

It has been published since January 1, 1946. It was founded by Johann Eifinger and Josef Hüls, who obtained a press license from the American authorities. Initially, the newspaper appeared three times a week, with an average circulation of 20,000. copies. They were also struggling with paper shortages. Since 1948 the magazine has appeared every day. Josef Hülsch left the publishing house in 1950. Two years later, the family of Schnitzler publishers joined the company and later Karl-Kellner-Ring. In 1970 the publishing house was transformed into Wetzlardruck GmbH. Between 1975 and 1976 a printing house was built. Johann Eifinger died on 29 June 1979. The publishing house remains in the hands of the heirs of the Eifinger and Schnitzler families.
