British Rail Class 313


British Rail Class 313 - type of electric traction units (EZT) manufactured in 1976-1977 by BREL in York commissioned by British Rail. It belongs to the EZT series of 5 types designed in 1972 to handle suburban routes in the largest cities (the others are Class 314, Class 315, Class 507 and Class 508).

Class 313 trains were the primary stock of the London Overground during the first years of operation of this carrier. In September 2010 they were completely withdrawn from its fleet and replaced by new British Rail Class 378s. BR Class 313 is still operated by First Capital Connect and Southern.
