Edward Whittemore


Edward Whittemore (born May 26, 1933, died August 3, 1995 in New York), American writer and journalist.

He studied at Yale University. When they finished, he joined the Marines, serving in Japan. He was recruited by the CIA. He worked under cover - from 1958 to 1967 he was a journalist for The Japan Times, an English-language journal published in Japan. Between 1982 and 1987 he lived in Jerusalem.

He is the author of five novels. He made his debut in 1974. in Shanghai and Shanghai Shanghai's Quin Circus. The plot of the novel takes place in the twentieth century, but in its center there are events from the 1930s. The other pieces written by him cover the series The Jerusalem Quartet.
