Flourish
Escalation - in aviation - a maneuver consisting of one or more consecutive turns in opposite directions, usually with a large tilt.
In gliding (as well as in paragliding), this maneuver is performed to remove a significant excess of height before landing. Maneuvers are usually used at airports where it is difficult or impossible to make a full flyover. Escape is also used during thermal flights, to stay longer in the area where the climb has been encountered, to be able to see if the resulting thermal chimney is present or if it is only a temporary turbulence. >
