Giovanni Solari
Giovanni Solari (born 1400 in Carona, died 1482 in Milan) is an Italian architect and engineer. Curriculum vitae
He was the son of architect and builder Marco Solari. He directed the construction of the monastery complex at Certosa di Pavia in the years 1428-1462. His successor as the work manager was his son Guiniforte Solari. Giovanni's son was also Francesco Solari, a sculptor and architect who worked on the construction of the monastery at Certosa di Pavia and at the Cathedral of Milan.
In 1452, Giovanni became a duke builder and was tasked with directing work on the construction of the Cathedral of Milan. He directed them to 1469. On April 30, 1457, Prince Francis I Sforza sent him to Locarno to gather the information needed for the subsequent restoration of the Prince's Mill because it was destroyed by the inhabitants. In 1471 he was employed as a builder at the reconstruction of the fortress in Val Lugano, Monza and Melegnano. He died in Milan in 1482 Bibliography
