Jadwiga (wife of Władysław Odonica)

Jadwiga (died December 29, 1249) - Duchess of Wielkopolska, Wladyslaw Odonica's wife. There is controversy about her origin, she is sometimes considered:

- as the relatives of the great master of the Teutonic Order Poppona von Osterna, she would have Franconian origin.

- for the Andechs family. In that case, she was a relative of Saint Hedwig.

- the daughter of Mściwoj I, governor of Pomerania Gdansk.

- the daughter of Svetlopek, the Czech prince of the Przemyslid dynasty.

- a person with a Gdansk background.

In the years 1218-1220 she married Wladyslaw Odonica, with whom she had sons Przemysl I and Boleslaw the Pious and daughters Salomea and Euphemia. Probably also had the third son of Ziemomysla and daughter Jadwiga, wife of Kazimierz I, Prince of Kujawskie.

She was buried in the cathedral of Gniezno. Bibliography
